Fibrenamics Azores presented a new sustainability model for the Azores

The event, which took place at NONAGON - São Miguel Science and Technology Park, in Lagoa, was attended by the Regional Director of Energy, Andreia Melo Carreiro, and the coordinator of the International Fibrenamics Platform, Raul Fangueiro.

With the motto of the importance of sustainability for the growth of the region, and as this may influence the growth of the industries, Fibrenamics made known a sustainability model for the Azorean archipelago based on the methodology adopted in its Fibrenamics Green project, which bets on the valorization based on product design and engineering.

Within this context, the Regional Government also revealed during the session that it has already started preparing the Circular Economy plan for the Autonomous Region.

The primary sectors of the Azores (Tourism and Agriculture) were also available to integrate this transition to the Circular Economy, as a way to implement the development of the region, since, with the implementation of this circularity model, the development of new business areas within each of the sectors.

This event was another initiative that was part of the strategy that Fibrenamics has been developing over the last two years in the Azores and whose objective is to bring to debate the transition from what is the linear economy model to a circular economy.
