"From waste to advanced materials and products" was the theme of the 3rd edition of the International Workshop promoted by Fibrenamics.
Fibrenamics, the international R&D platform of the University of Minho, brought together world experts in waste and advanced materials for the 3rd edition of the Fibrenamics International Workshop, which took place on the 21st of April. Under the theme "From waste to advanced materials and products", this workshop took place in digital format and was attended by 780 participants, from 57 different countries.
The motto 'Some people's trash is another's treasure!' placed waste in the spotlight, considering that it occupies an increasingly important place in the sustainability plan that is wanted for the planet and has the attention of the scientific community and industry. And it was with the aim of realizing what opportunities does waste reserve and how to convert it into advanced materials and products with high added value, that Fibrenamics brought together world experts on the subject.
The valuable contributions of Raul Fangueiro, Maryam Naebe, Mohd Sapuan Salit, David Tyler and Orlando Rojas allowed the audience to get a picture of the overall scientific, technological and even creative application that waste can have, thus contributing to a future more innovative and sustainable.
