Fibrenamics joins European group to promote Circular Economy

Fibrenamics is present at the International Workshop "Barriers and shortcuts to Circular Economy" that is taking place today, February 22, at the headquarters of the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union (REPER), in Brussels.

This event takes place within the scope of the European project SCREEN - Synergic Circular Economy Across European Regions - and is being organized by CCDR Centro, with the aim of addressing very specifically the obstacles and potential solutions with a view to the transition to a Circular Economy.

The SCREEN project has the participation of 17 regions from 12 Member States and has as its main objective the definition of a replicable system of transition to the Circular Economy in the regions of the EU, in the context of its smart specialization strategies. To this end, it is proposed to develop processes for identifying and implementing synergies between research and innovation support funds, between Horizon 2020 and the European Structural and Investment Funds, also seeking to contribute to the promotion of future models of collaboration and cooperation. new innovative eco value chains.

With a view to fulfilling the project's objectives and thus promoting the transition to the Circular Economy, it is important to identify the barriers and constraints currently existing (normative and otherwise), to the development of collaborative initiatives between regions, dedicated to this theme, hence that is the main focus of this initiative. The workshop program also includes a session dedicated to the discussion of a Memorandum of Understanding whose objective is the application of Structural Funds in transregional European projects in the context of the Circular Economy.

After joining several qualified and prestigious groups of specialists in the area of ​​Circular Economy at national level, Fibrenamics is now recognized as an entity of relevance in the debate of these issues at European level.
