"The North Region will have unique conditions to anticipate Carbon Neutrality"
In conversation with Raul Fangueiro, President of the Fibrenamics Association, António Cunha, President of CCDR-N, glimpsed the future of technology and stressed the importance it will have for the fulfillment of the commitment of the Human Being to the planet.
In the fourth episode of From Science To People, the Fibrenamics podcast, the President of CCDR-N made a positive assessment of the impact of technology on human life, for its ability to provide, throughout the evolutionary process of knowledge, the extension of the longevity of our species. However, the impact of this evolution on the environment is notorious, both for the use of natural resources and for the emission of greenhouse gases.
"We are in the midst of a digital transformation", said the former Rector of the University of Minho. For him, technology is still "at the beginning of the ladder", and the scientific knowledge now known is currently many times superior to the technology implemented.
"The issue of sustainability and digital will take a huge centrality in the next 10 years."
In the particular case of the North Region, the President of CCDR-N has no doubts that the region has advantageous conditions for the development of sustainable projects and proposals, both in the area of energy, mobility, and textiles, from the investment and intervention of companies with a mentality oriented towards a more promising and fruitful future.
