University of Minho hosts European Union COST network meeting
The International Fibrenamics Platform of the University of Minho (UMinho) organizes, today and tomorrow, a meeting of the COST network, which will focus on the debate on the new structures for architecture and construction. The meetings take place on the Azurém campus.
The COST network (European Cooperation in the Scientific and Technical Research) is the oldest European program for coordinating research activities, of which Professor Raul Fangueiro, Fibrenamics coordinator, is a member. In this action, 40 specialists in the area will debate the future of structures in architecture and construction. On Wednesday morning there will be a lecture by the Portuguese Innovation Society (SPI), which Fibrenamics will follow live. One of the fundamental objectives of COST actions is to define European innovation and development goals and trends, as well as to promote networking and foster knowledge sharing.
This event takes place within the knowledge transfer and technological surveillance activities of the platform that has acted, over the last few years, as a connecting element between companies and universities for the development of new products and materials.
