As a result of its internationalization strategy, Fibrenamics, together with the University of Minho and the Municipality of Guimarães, signs a protocol of intentions with three institutions from the city of Londrina in Paraná, Brazil. The partnership aims to reinforce academic, scientific and technical cooperation, as well as to promote applied research for the industry and the creation of economic value between the two regions.

Within the scope of the “Design in industrial innovation” exhibition, Oliva Creative Factory, in partnership with ERT Têxtil SA, invites the Fibrenamics Green project to hold the exhibition “From Waste to Product”, which will be open to the public from 21 to 27 de Janeiro at Oliva Creative Factory, in S. João da Madeira. This exhibition will culminate with the Fibrenamics Green workshop: “Innovation with Waste - Product Design and Engineering”, which will take place on January 27, 2017, starting at 2:30 pm.

Luani Costa, Master in Construction and Sustainable Rehabilitation, won one of the prizes of the 14th Student Competition “Textile Structures For New Building” from Techtextil 2017 - International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens. The winning project was developed in the scope of the master's thesis “Development of Architectural Structure for Intelligent and Active Textile in Flexion” and had the guidance of Professor Raul Fangueiro, coordinator of the International Fibrenamics Platform, and the co-supervision of Professor Luís F. Ramos, from Civil Engineering Department of UMinho.
