This R&D project, sponsored by ERT Textile in partnership with Fibrenamics - University of Minho, aimed at developing technical laminates for power generation.
Innovation
LAMIPOWER project intended to carry out research and development activities to create the knowledge for the development of two types of highly innovative laminated textile structures, namely for:
● The generation of energy from photovoltaic cells within laminated flexible membranes. This product is meant for application on terrace awnings and on the membranes of the truck trailers.
● The application on the door panel of a vehicle. This laminate includes flexible conductive fibres capable of releasing thermal energy, thus providing thermal comfort for the user.
Results
Within this project, both a fibrous structure with heating capacity for application on car door panels and a technology for laminating flexible photovoltaic panels for application to flexible membranes was developed.
