ProtechDry

Cotton underwear specially created for urine leakage, being ultra-absorbent, anti-odor and washable.

The Protechdry project consists in the development of a piece of underwear, developed by Impetus in partnership with Fibrenamics – University of Minho, for mild urinary incontinence, indicated for stress incontinence, postpartum, urinary system problems, stress, post-intervention surgery, temperature variations, among others.

Innovation
The Protechdry is a discreet prototype for the user, reusable, replacing for this purpose, bulky disposable diapers used for mild incontinence. It is anti-allergic, ultra-absorbent, waterproof, contains sealed seams, is dry on contact with the skin, neutralizes odors, improves the quality of life, is washable, reusable and economical. Before the project progressed to a product, a pre-clinical study and certification of the product as a medical device with INFARMED was carried out.

Results
The project gave rise to two patents: WO 2011/108954 A1 and PCT / PT2012 / 000022.

Datasheet
The Protechdry project (QREN Project nº 17349/2011), promoted by Impetus (Portugal), is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN).
