Fibrenamics Azores organizes workshop “Innovation and Development: from knowledge to the market”

Next Wednesday, October 12, Fibrenamics Azores, hub of the International Fibrenamics Platform at the University of Minho, headquartered at NONAGON, will organize the Workshop “Innovation and Development: from knowledge to the market”, which will take place on 12 October, at the Angra pole of the University of the Azores, on Terceira Island, with start scheduled for 2 pm. Organized in partnership with the University of the Azores, the Biotechnology Center of the Azores, the Gaspar Frutuoso Foundation and SINEGE, and funded by the Government of the Azores and the Regional Directorate for Science and Technology (DRCT), participation in this event is free, but requires registration.

Aimed at the business community, young entrepreneurs, the academic community of the University of the Azores, local authorities and society in general, the workshop will focus on the theme of innovation, with a special focus on the development of new materials and products.

Raul Fangueiro (University of Minho), Helena Cristina Vasconcelos (University of the Azores), Filipe Soutinho (IDT Consulting) and Fernando Cunha (Sciencentris) will be the speakers at this event, whose objective is to show how it is possible to move from research made at Universities and Research and Technology Centers for the introduction of new products on the market.

During this event, research cases will also be presented in the area of ​​fibrous materials and composite materials based on the endogenous resources of the region, at the same time that their practical applications and their potential in the development of new products of value will be made known. added. In addition, success stories will also be shared at national and regional levels that resorted to this innovation and development strategy.

This is another knowledge transfer activity promoted by Fibrenamics Azores, which has been working since the 5th of January from NONAGON - Science and Technology Park, in São Miguel.
