Pedro Regadas and Sónia Soeiro are the winners of the launched challenges. Pedro Regadas won first place in the Fiber challenge with the “Dress your pans” project and Sónia Soeiro was the just winner of the “Wood” challenge with the “Facet Stool” project.

The winner of each challenge will be awarded a cash prize of € 500.00, and will be given the opportunity to develop his product and publicly present his project.

The Fibrenamics Green team chose the best proposal for each of the challenges, according to criteria of merit, innovation, creativity, sustainability and technical feasibility and, for that, sought the two best solutions that applied the development of products based on residues with new utilities, shapes, touch, finishes and emotions. The competition jury consisted of Raul Fangueiro, coordinator of the Fibrenamics Green platform, Bernardo Providência, from the School of Architecture at the University of Minho, and David Bota professor at IADE Lisboa and ELISAVA Barcelona.

Aimed at all members belonging to the Green Think Tank (GTT) network, this contest aimed to put ideas on fire always in order to develop an innovative product based on waste.

The Fibrenamics Green Project - Platform for the development of innovative products based on waste, with the reference NORTE-01-0246-FEDER-000008, is co-financed by the ERDF under the Northern Regional Operational Program NORTE2020, with a total eligible cost of € 552,856.83, EU financial support of € 469,928.31 and self-financing of € 82,928.52.
