Fibrenamics integrates the Portuguese textile delegation in China
Fibrenamics integrated a Portuguese delegation from the textile industry into China as part of the University of Minho's innovation ecosystem. This initiative, promoted by the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, aimed to foster partnerships for commercial, industrial, educational, research, and innovative cooperation between the two nations. The program took place from May 26 to June 9, spanning various locations in China.
The delegation comprised notable representatives, including the University of Minho, represented by Raul Fangueiro, the Vice President of EEUM and President of Fibrenamics, along with their innovation ecosystem encompassing research centers and Interfaces. The delegation also included participation from Famalicão City Hall, the Technological Center for Textile and Clothing Industries, the Textile Association of Portugal, several textile sector companies, the Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Economy.
The program itinerary encompassed visits to Wuhan, Beijing, and Hangzhou, where the delegation actively engaged with various Chinese institutions through collaborative activities. Notable institutions visited included Wuhan Textile University and the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. These meetings facilitated the establishment of significant contacts, with the aim of fostering cooperation protocols in research, development, and innovation.
In Hangzhou, the delegation was received by the multinational technology company ALIBABA, as well as the Zheijiang Chamber of Commerce, where an important working meeting took place. The program also featured visits to several Chinese companies, and the delegation was warmly received by the Portuguese ambassador in China upon their arrival in Beijing.
This mission of the Portuguese textile delegation in China represents a tremendous opportunity to establish strategic partnerships and enhance commercial and innovation relations between Portugal and China. It has the potential to invigorate the Portuguese textile sector and drive significant advancements in textile research, development, and innovation.
