The "Guimarães Space Hub" has been launched to promote collaboration in the space industry, focusing on business, education, and research. It aims to create new partnerships in the region and boost the aerospace economy.
The Guimarães City Council and the University of Minho, through the School of Engineering and CEiiA - Center for Engineering and Development, have signed a collaboration agreement to transform the textile factory of Arquinho into the "Guimarães Space Hub".
During the presentation of this center, the Mayor of Guimarães, Domingos Bragança, emphasized the strategic importance of science and knowledge for the development of the region and added that the new facilities should be ready within two to three years.
This new technological hub, to be built at the site of the former Arquinho Factory, will be the future headquarters of the Fibrenamics Institute.
