Fibrenamics present at the IV Forum of the European Union's Outermost Regions
The Fibrenamics International Platform of the University of Minho is participating, at the invitation of the European Commission, in the IV Forum of the Outermost Regions of the European Union, under the theme “The Outermost Regions, lands of Europe in the world: towards a renewed strategy”, which is taking place during the 30th and 31st of March in Brussels.
The invitation came at the recommendation of the Government of the Azores, as Fibrenamics has collaborated closely with the Government of the Azores on various R&D initiatives and projects within the scope of Fibrenamics Azores, the hub of Fibrenamics on the island of S. Miguel.
During the Forum, structured in thematic and plenary sessions, topics such as the competitiveness and employment of the Outermost Regions (ORs), transport and accessibility, energy, the circular economy, the integration of the ORs in international markets and programs are being discussed. and European funds.
This initiative is bringing together the Presidents of the Outermost Regions, representatives of the Member States with Outermost Regions (Portugal, Spain and France), representatives of the institutions of the European Union, organized civil society and other stakeholders.
