What future does time really have in store? It’s for this future that we daily seek to develop the matter that will solve the problems of a more prosperous and sustainable tomorrow! These were the premises that led us to develop the slogans “From Science to People” and “Inspiring the Future”. This is the DNA of the Fibrenamics Institute of Minho University, where we will continue to develop sustainable solutions for a better future for all.

Time demonstrates that the future, despite being elusive, points towards the direction in which global strategies will mark the step of this (re)evolution. The climate transition is and will be, the order of Time’s agenda, where it is already possible to see the development of a planet at different speeds, but with a strong mobilization of Civil Society, Universities, and Companies. Everyone has an important role in this chronology that insists on accelerating. This triangulation was something that we have progressed since the genesis of Fibrenamics and that we call the virtuous triangle. The symmetry of the vertices and angles of this polygon represents the clarity and strategic alignment that we intend to develop by identifying opportunities, developing knowledge, transferring knowledge to companies, and placing innovative and sustainable products on the market.

From the perspective of Science and Technology, the building of the future is positioned where the naked eye cannot glimpse but that, in fact, the end result mankind can experience. This is nanotechnology where we look for solutions that allow the use of less material, durable, sustainable, and intelligent materials. These materials, which are also combined in different scales and orientations, allow the construction and design of different fibrous structures oriented towards the needs of the Future.

We may not know what Time the Future holds, but we certainly know that Restlessness, Creativity, Resilience, and Perseverance will naturally mark our Time so that we can continue to Inspire The Future.
