Two hundred researchers from 30 nationalities will meet on the 3rd and 4th of September at the Forte de S. Julião da Barra, in Lisbon, to present what the best and most innovative is being done worldwide in the area of ​​advanced applied materials defense sector.

The initiative, part of Fibrenamics - International Platform of the University of Minho, has the seal of the Ministry of National Defense and brings together for the first time universities, military research centers, companies and technological centers in the discussion on development and research in the areas of nano and microtechnology, biotechnology, invisible materials, intelligent materials and structures and energy generation and storage.

José Azeredo Lopes, Minister of National Defense, will be at the opening session of the conference, which will also count on his audience with representatives from the various branches of the Portuguese Armed Forces.

The AuxDefense 2018 conference results from scientific research and technological development work in the field of advanced materials carried out by the AuxDefense project, a consortium that associates the University of Minho through the Fibrenamics International Platform, the Portuguese Army and the Portuguese Air Force to five companies Portuguese from the northern region: Fibrauto, IDT Consulting, Latino Group, LMA and Sciencentris.
