White Papers Fibrenamics assist Portuguese institutions in the preparation of PPE

The Platform of the University of Minho has just launched the fourth White Paper of a series of documents dedicated to the production and standardization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

The advent of the disease caused by the new coronavirus, Covid-19, caused the demand for personal protective equipment to increase dramatically, not only on Portuguese soil, but worldwide. Another reflection of this pandemic was the rapid conversion of services from companies and production lines from industrial sectors to the production of these PPE.

There were dozens of requests for support that came to Fibrenamics for the conversion of industrial lines and the lack of technical information available to guide this type of production.

With the intention of assisting in this adaptation, Fibrenamics made news in the press by providing technical-scientific documents containing instructions and safety standards for the production of this equipment, in addition to the support provided in accessing raw materials.

New White Paper: Caps and Protection Cells
There are currently four White Papers available for free and destined to the production of Masks, Gowns, Gloves and, recently, Caps and Cogulas, which have more than 9,000 accesses. The documents provide information on the types of protection required depending on the risk agents, the materials and processes involved in their preparation and the standardization applied to validating / certifying their performance.

Also noteworthy is the potential update of these documents at any time, being open to the contribution of other professionals who have relevant information that can be made available.

The four White Papers are available for free here.
