MultiscaleProtech

Multiscale fibrous structures for thermal, chemical and electrical protection

The MultiscaleProtech project aims to develop filiform fibrous structures (threads) and biaxial planar (fabrics) of high performance against chemical, thermal and electrical agents, based on emerging technologies, including nanotechnology, for the use in clothing oriented mainly for applications in the fields of protection against splashing at high temperature (welding) and exposure to chemical agents and electrical discharges.

Innovation
Thus, it is intended to develop a new generation of technical fabrics using advanced functionalization techniques and new architecture of fiber arrangement in filiform fibrous structures (yarn) and biaxial planar (fabric), in order to maximize the properties of the resulting structures and to minimize the negative impacts of the use of fibrous materials, combining technical performance, such as resistance to chemical agents, thermal stability, conductivity and electrical insulation, with the increase in the thermophysiological comfort properties provided to the user.
